In particular I want to tell you about Cotton Tree, a small suburb on the beach at Maroochydore.

Cotton Tree is bordered by the Maroochy River to the North, the ocean to the East and Aerodrome to the West. This triangular section of real estate is not as developed as many of the more famous beach areas such as Mooloolaba to the South and Noosa to the North. Consequently Cotton Tree is not as busy as many other popular destinations and is therefore more suited to the quiet beach holiday. Let me tell you about some of the facilities in Cotton Tree.

The Cotton Tree shopping centre is small but has most of the essential supplies you will need for your holiday. The Cotton Tree butcher is very popular with locals for the quality of the meat and the Sunday markets are a very popular attraction for holiday makers and locals alike.

Of particular interest might be the Maroochy Shire Library, the Maroochy Surf Lifesaving Club and the Local Restaurants. The Surf Lifesaving club is a friendly venue right on the beach at Cotton Tree with spectacular views of the beach and the ocean. I recommend you try the surf club for lunch; their meals are excellent and the view over the beach provides hours of entertainment.

My wife and I love the place so much that we bought a holiday unit “on the beach” at Cotton Tree. It is a three bedroom unit with all the comforts you would typically expect. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and ensuite. The second bedroom has 2 beds and the third has a bunk bed with 2 bunks. This is perfect for the little ones. There is a comfortable lounge with balcony, television, DVD player and comfortable outdoor furniture where you can sit in the evenings and listen to the sea or watch over the kids while they swim in the pool below.
